My Story
From stage IV diagnosis to national patient advocate — the journey that changed everything.

The Beginning
In 2020, I was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer. What followed was a living donor transplant, a long recovery, and a fundamental shift in how I understood the relationship between patients and their healthcare teams. I didn’t just survive — I became determined to help others navigate the same journey with more confidence, more support, and more power than I had.
The Diagnosis
In November 2020, I was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer. What followed changed everything — my perspective, my purpose, and my path forward.
The Transplant
My journey led to a living donor liver transplant — a life-saving gift that deepened my commitment to the patients and caregivers who walk this road every day.
The Advocacy
From Call on Congress to the Cologuard Classic, from advisory councils to the podcast mic — I turned survivorship into a mission to empower every patient I could reach.
“Tim is a truly inspirational person, not just a speaker. His message about leadership through building confidence goes beyond just a speech. Choosing him as a keynote speaker at our IT Masters Forum was a very wise decision — bravo from all the attendees.”
