Advocacy Is the Work
The wound becomes the wisdom, and the wisdom becomes the work. Here’s where I show up.
My Advocacy Journey
I became an advocate the moment I realized my experience as a Stage IV colorectal cancer patient and liver transplant recipient was bigger than me. Today I serve in multiple roles across the patient advocacy ecosystem — from research panels and legislative work to community leadership and organizational advisory boards. This is where the wound becomes the wisdom, and the wisdom becomes the work.
Fight Colorectal Cancer
Research Advocate — participating in CDMRP peer review panels, Call on Congress, and Natera’s patient steering committee to drive better outcomes for colorectal cancer patients.
Man Up to Cancer
Florida Chapter Leader — building community for men facing cancer through the Gathering of Wolves annual retreat and year-round peer support.
PAN Foundation & HOPA
Advisory Council Member — serving patients navigating financial toxicity and supporting hematology/oncology pharmacy initiatives that improve care access.
“Tim’s perspective is incredibly validating. His unique journey from Stage IV colon cancer to one of the leading advocates gives this book — and his advocacy work — a personal touch and tried-and-true relevance that is rare.”
